Minnesota natives Jack Connolly and Tim Kirby have been selected as two of the 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the nation's top college player.
Connolly, a Duluth native and Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs captain, was both the WCHA Scoring Champion and Player of the Year. The senior was also a finalist last year while helping lead the Bulldogs to their first-ever NCAA National Championship.
Kirby, an Austin native and Air Force lynchpin, has tallied 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 33 games as a defenseman. He was named the Atlantic Hockey Association's Best Defenseman and Player of the Year.

The list will be wittled down to three names on March 29. Finally, the Hobey Baker Award winner will be announced Friday, April 6, from MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa during the NCAA Frozen Four.
