Minnesota Junior A Combine takes place this weekend

It's a big weekend for high school and young adult hockey players who are looking to advance and continue their careers. The 2012 Minnesota Junior A Combine began today, May 17, and it will run through Sunday, May 20, at the Schwan's Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.

R4/MSR is hosting 12 teams comprised of Junior A players and hopefuls between 17-20 years of age. Scouts will be attending from all over, including colleges, USHL, BCHL, NAHL and other organizations, to search for upcoming developing talent. On- and off-ice fitness and skill testing will monitored and recorded on Thursday and Friday. Games begin Friday and continue through Sunday.

The Minnesota Hockey Journal will have updates here, on Facebook and Twitter throughout the weekend as players will look to open some eyes and find a good home to continue developing their playing careers.

There will be updated stats throughout the weekend tournament that can be found on the Minnesota Scouting Report's website.

About R4 and the Minnesota Scouting Report:

Players graduating in years 2011 through 2014 are eligible to participate in the MN Junior A Combine. All participants will receive the following:
– Five ice times
– Three to five regulation games
– On-ice testing/report
– Testing results camparisons
– Benchmarks
– Off-ice testing/reports
– Yearly subscription to Minnesota Scouting Report

The Minnesota Scouting Report is a Minnesota player database designed to help players, coaches and scouts connect. R4 is provides the same features but on a national level.

Unlike other exposure events or camps, the Minnesota Scouting Combine provides the players with honest feedback in regard to where they stand according to the Junior A and college hockey ranks. We also will provide Junior A and colleges with the detailed information from the combine.
